Meanie Molar Monster

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a very painful and sleepless 3 or 4 nights Jensen finally slept through the night with no teething pain and the associated blood curdling screaming. We're just not sure if those two molars are finally cut or if all of our strategies and pain relief tactics worked last night. I just hope we don't have to see anymore of the Meanie Molar Monster.

Hip Hop Harry and DJ Jazzy Jensen

Jensen had her 18 month wellness checkup this morning. So since we had a little extra time at home I let her watch 2 of her favorite shows...Blue's Clues and Hi-5. On the Hi-5 recordings there's a show just ending called Hip Hop Harry that she loves to dance to. Hip Hop Harry is a big yellow bear dressed like a hip hop homey and he and several kids dance at the very end of the show while HHH sings a hip hop goodbye song.

Now this little hip hop ditty can be really annoying as it gets stuck in your head and you find yourself singing it from time to time throughout the day. Just like today. We're waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for Dr. Mac to come into the exam room and Jensen started to get bored. So I started singing the HHH good bye ditty and sure enough she gets up and starts dancing. Then that started to get old to her so Mommy decided to show her how to break dance. I put her on her back and spun her around on the floor then put her on her butt and spun her around. She LOVED it and wanted to keep doing it over and over again giggling all the while. Of course all this fun was over once Dr. Mac entered the room and she started the shy routine.

Then when she got to daycamp she apparently decided she didn't quite look the part at the doctor's office in her diaper and t-shirt so she started putting together a crisper hip hop look. Now she's got the moves, the hip hop name and the look.

The JDS Art Museum

We're busily getting ready for the grand opening and I'm really thinking we need to charge admission. The works of art are amazing, the depth of artistic ability astonishing and the variety of artistry methods employed incredible!!!! There's painting, there's collaging, there's stickering, there's stamping, there's ceramics, there's paper sculptures!!!

Among the works of art currently available for public showing is a majestic tiger face on a mini paper plate in Room Master Bed. Also among the public pieces is the walk of smiley face stickery in Room Front Porch. In Room Master Bath there is a beautifully painted ceramic mermaid. In Room Staircase Spindles there is a fine array of Blue's Clues stickery. In Room Lowdies there are multiple pieces including an eclectic butterfly collage, a Muddy Piggy painting, and a melange of vibrant nature collages.

The artwork will be swapped out for newer pieces as they become available (with the exception being the stickery art) so you will want to return to the JDS Art Museum often. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Hula Girl's Halloween

It was actually a cold Halloween in Texas!!!! Don't know if that had anything to do with Jensen's lack of interest in trick-or-treating or not...probably not, but she and Daddy only made it to 4 houses and she was held the whole time. She had no interest in getting down and out of Daddy's cuddly arms. I think she had more fun taking the candy out of our candy bucket and putting it back in OCD style. She also enjoyed hugging and kissing our plastic Jack-O-Lantern. She got some pretty lame-o treats that we actually thought of "regifting" but as it turns out we had more than enough candy and then some!
