Birthday Bash 2007

Woohoo!!!! What a weekend!

Jensen had a blast at Chuck E. Cheese with her friends on Saturday!!! She climbed, slid, whack-a-moled, basket shot, and rode ad naseum. She ate lotsa pizza, drank lotsa pink lemonade (new found favorite drink) and learned a new favorite word "cake". In fact she indicated that she wanted some of her birthday cake for breakfast and dinner all week. She was none too happy when Mom said no each time. (She aced "chocolate" at Easter time.)

And she got so many super schweet toys from family. We played and played with all her new toys and art stuff. A good time was had by all.

Transition Time Part Tre

This week Jensen is finally transitioning to the Early Preschool (EPS) room. She's definitely ready this time as she seems to be bored with the younger kids in her Toddler room so much that she won't let Mommy leave lately without some serious theatrics. She loves playing with older kids too so is doing well with the transition. She got a little overwhelmed yesterday when they went to soft play however, because when the EPS kids go to soft play they combine two classes of twelve or so kids. The 20+ kids running around in one room overwhelmed her to the point that she wouldn't/didn't eat her lunch. : ( But everyday that Daddy has picked her up from that room she is having a blast!!!!!! Yesterday they painted something (mostly themselves from the look of it) and when Daddy picked her up all the kids were helping to clean the paint off the table.

She will be fully transitioned by the end of the week. She's growing up so (too) fast!!!!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Sube!!!!!!!

This first part of the posting today is a gratuitous shout out to Jensen's Daddy. I've posted about Jensen's favorite phrases a couple of times and have gotten chided for not mentioning Troy's current favorite Jensen phrase. It is "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" when she sees something yummy to eat. Not yummmmmmmmmmmm, but mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm and her big blue eyes get all twinkly and bright. It is the cutest thing but the next phrase is even better. However mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm will get me some brownie points with the hubby! : )

Last night was another (few and far between) Girls' Night In as Daddy (finally) went to Jui Jitzu again. We had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was 2 1/2 hours of hard play and laughter. There was also a serious weepy moment of pride. Jensen and I were going upstairs to draw on her art table and on the way up the stairs she was saying a two syllable word that started with a "s" and ended in an "ay" sound. I was really spinning my wheels in high gear trying to decipher this latest expression, when half way up the stairs the proverbial light bulb came on and I was overcome with pride and a little awestruck to be quite honest. It turns out what she was saying was "sube" which is a Spanish word that means "it raises" and "subir" is the unconjugated form for "to climb", so in this sense "sube" would be "you climb". I knew where she got this once I figured out what the word was...it was from Go Diego Go. We just watched the episode where Diego and Linda the llama are delivering books to the mountaintop library. As they climb up the mountain Diego asks you to say "sube". We end up singing "sube sube" quite a few times as they climb up the mountain.

I am just in awe that a two year old has that good of a memory and comprehension to use English words in context let alone Spanish words! I am constantly amazed and humbled by our little girl.

One of Jensen's Newest Phrases....

and no it doesn't contain a swear word!!!! That's what Ms. Lauren wondered out loud when I said "guess what I taught Jensen to say last night"? That sassy little teacher said "what another swear word??" Real funny Ms. Lauren and yes you were audible! ; )

Anyhoo if you're at all familiar with Dora the Explorer you know about that naughty little fox Swiper. He's always swiping everything and when Dora and Boots bust him about to swipe something they say "Swiper no swiping". To which that sly little thief says "Oooooooooooh Maaaaaaaaaaaannnn!" in a very distinctive way. I taught her to say it this week and with her slight Texan accent it's the cutest thing ever! Now she says "oh man" when we say it to prompt her and she just loves that she makes Mom and Dad giggle like two little kids hopped up on sugar.

Thank you Easter Bunny bock bock!!!!

We hadn't planned on having an Easter Egg hunt for Jensen since we thought she was too young to get into it, but after walking Oscar on Saturday night and seeing a neighbor's yard covered in eggs I changed our minds. And we're so glad I did! She had a ball!!! And it was as if she'd done it before. She came downstairs, saw her Easter basket, opened all the goodies, then we told her she needed to hunt eggs and off she went with basket in hand. And she was able to stay focused for all 10 eggs! We only had to help with two of the better hidden eggs. She did so great! And she loved all her goodies that were inside each egg as well as in her basket. And I've come to realize that she is definitely her father's daughter after watching her snarf down so much chocolate!!!!!

Mini Duck Haircut

Saturday featured Jensen's 2nd haircut (shown below in her Hairstyle Magazine pose).
Saturday also featured the pick up of Troy's Midlife Crisis Mobile (MLCM). Which delighted Jensen since she now has a new "toy" car, but upset Oscar since he now doesn't have his own vehicle to come and go with Dad as he pleases. Jensen played in the "toy" cars in the Mini Cooper showroom for over an hour.....she liked this original one best as it was the smallest.......She played in Dad's while he got his orientation, then she continued wanting to play in it the rest of the weekend. Jensen also got a new duck umbrella this weekend since she's been obsessed with rain, umbrellas, outdoors, etc. lately, and likes to play with Mom's umbrella. Funny thing is the umbrella is about the same size as the Mini!!!! Check it out!On Sunday we went to see Thomas the Train, got a temporary Thomas tattoo, blew bubbles with a not-so-funny clown, and played with Choo Choos with all the multiple little hooligans. Whew!!!! Troy is too old for all this excitement!!!!! ; )
