Jensen's First Haircut

Yea I know...she's almost two and just now getting a haircut, but it was sooooooo cute all pulled back into pony tails. But lately even she has been getting irritated with it being in her eyes when she wakes up, interfering with TV watching and getting in her food. Plus Mom and Dad were getting tired of having to put it back all the time multiple times a day.

So the gal that cuts Troy's hair did the honors. It took all of 10 minutes for her to go from unbelievable cute to absolutely adorable. It's nice to be able to see those baby blues all the time now and we could swear they seem brighter and bluer...maybe because there's no hair in them anymore???? Anyhoo...you be the judge...adorable or what?

Poor "Li'l" Oscar

Oscar is doing very well with everything, but man does he look pathetic poor guy. He's shaven clear up to the middle of his back and his incision is very long with many, many sutures. He's horribly bruised and red. I just want to hold him. He got lotsa extra TLC on his first night home and will continue to get that as we help him heal. He sure is a toughie as he put pressure on it right away, is walking on it just fine and even lifted his opposite leg to pee this morning putting a whole lotta weight on his hurt leg. He's whining for walks but has to be on restrictive activity (not off the leash, no walks, just outside on a leash to go to the bathroom) for 2 weeks! Then he can have 5 minutes walks for a week increasing by 5 minutes each week until we're through the 10-week rest period.

There's so much to his recovery over the next 3 months that I actually had to make a spreadsheet to post on the fridge so we are sure to follow it to the letter. We've already had to call once to ask a question about his meds, but hope that we can handle it from here.

Oscar's Homecoming

Oscar comes home today....we can't wait!!!! We got a few updates yesterday and everything sounded like it went well and he was doing well, but I want to see him for myself. Valentine's Day and the evening in general just wasn't the same without our boy and Mom cried when she opened her Valentine's Day present from him. Jensen kept asking where "woof" was and I kept having to remind her that he was at the doctor getting his leg fixed. It was very sad. But we still had a fabulous Valentine's Day evening...just missed our big boy.

Speaking of big boy...he has gained 9 pounds since being injured!!! So he'll be going on a BIG 'ol diet! At least right after his Valentine's steak and homecoming wine toast. ; )

Happy Valentine's Day ????

So even though today is Love Day I'm feeling pretty sad..... Oscar went into ACL surgery this morning and they have to keep him overnight. Jensen caught strep throat from me and so is excluded from daycamp today. She has a very sore throat that we took for teething pain all weekend even though my throat was excruiatingly painful over the weekend. Yet another tough parenthood lesson!!!! So both kids in pain and missing my puppy on Valentine's Day is rough. But we'll make the best of it and plan to have another Valentine's Day celebration tomorrow night for Oscar. : )
